The kitchen is coming along ...
Ok, so you will still need to use ALOT of imagination but the kitchen very much feels like its own space and now that the cabinetry has begun to go into production with the lovely people at Bryan Turner Kitchens, I feel as though the heart of our new home is underway. The half brick wall that divides the kitchen area from the snug side of the room is going to be left un-treated and painted white to keep a semi-industrial feel to things. And the Aga will lie on the kitchen side, facing an inbuilt desk for my computer on the snug side. The idea is that whoever is slaving away at the Aga will still be able to feel a part of everything (and more importantly will be able to keep an eye on essential Winter telly such as the X Factor result, Strictly Come Dancing scores and the second series of Homeland). Our architect has produced the 3D drawing below which explains the layout better than I am able to do in words, although I'm glad he won't be responsible for picking the colour of the cabinets - sludge isn't quite what I've got in mind!
